The sea around him was shallow, the surface of the water rising to a bit
under Fuguri's knee.
Fuguri splashed towards the monster, kicking up a terrific spray.
As he reached it, Fuguri shot forth with his favorite spin-kick.
"Yaaa!"
His kick was powerful enough to level a 10-story building with one blow,
but the monster's expression did not change.
"What? Then... take that, you
bastard!"
Fuguri lashed out with a straight kick from his left leg.
However, the monster still did not show any pain.
It seemed totally composed, as though it felt nothing from his kick.
"Who's this now, IKA?"
"Gee . I am called Blue Cat...although I'm in a sort of blackish
costume today."
Since the monster, whose kind never seemed to speak human language,
suddenly spoke to him,
Fuguri gave an honest answer without thinking.
"It's a pity for you, I'm afraid, but your kick
has no effect to me, IKA."
The body of the monster indeed seemed soft enough to nullify the force of
Fuguri's kick.
"You are a mischievous thing, though, and I'm
going to have to teach you a lesson, IKA"
With that, the monster wrapped its tentacles around Fuguri.
